I only buy flannel sheets and pillow cases because they are so comfy. I even take my own flannel bedding when traveling and staying over in hotels and resorts. I do not like regular cotton or silk sheets. I love these, and will order again when needed......AND YES IT WILL INITIALLY SHED. I BELIEVE ALL FLANNEL DOES THAT but I have not bought an expensive flannel sheet set to compare. But I know they say you should wash towels and sheets before you use them anyway to wash off the chemical residue from when they're made.Wipe out your washer from any remaining lint stuck to the sides before washing again.I put my RED set in the dryer with 5 dryer sheets to make them smell good and be soft. The lint trap was full. Mission accomplished.If you have a small trap, you may want to stop drying midway to clean it before the finish. Then I shook them vigorously from my balcony to remove the residual.3 STARS AS MY COMPLAINT IS THE COMPANY NOT INSERTING WASHING INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PACKAGING.AND YES YOU NEVER WASH HIGHLY INTENSE DYED COTTON WITH ANY OTHER COLOR. MY DRYER SHEETS WERE PINK.Keeps me very warm but they are not soft even after washing.The set seems pretty good, but when going to wash for the first time before use. all of the nice soft flannel came off in the drier. In fact, there was well over an inch thick of material in the freshly cleaned out lint trap. Basically it is now like having a set of duck canvas sheets.New bed, new sheets! Should be cool enough for summer, warm enough for winter!I washed the sheets before using them. Shredded alot of fuzz on first wash. Not sure on second yet. Not sure on fit.I liked okay but still get alot of lint balls on I have had them for awhilethese are the absolute best They arrived early. Washed them and put them on the bed and they are so soft and warm!
